Citation | Distinguished for his extensive contributions to Algebra. Among these may be mentioned his characterisation of pseudo-valuations on an arbitrary field and, in recent years, his important contributions to the theory of rings, particularly relating to the notion of free ideal rings (firs), and to the K-theory of free associative rings where he made the decisive contribution. He has published 70 odd papers and written 11 books on algebraic topics, one on Lie Groups being the most quoted book in the field. |
