Date | 14 April 2020 |
Description | Certificate endorsing election of Sarah Teichmann as a Fellow of the Royal Society. Includes personal details of the elected Fellow, citaion giving the reasons for election, and names of proposers. Signed by the Executive Director of the Royal Society, Julie Maxton. |
Citation | Sarah's novel approaches to computational methods have enabled them to be combined with structural biology, genomics and single cell biology. Using these methods, she has shown that protein complexes assemble via stereotypical pathways, improving our understanding of genetic diseases. These insights also assist in the design and engineering of proteins and the deciphering of protein networks. Applying analogous ideas to transcriptional regulation, she revealed principles of network evolution in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. She has also pioneered single cell technologies in human tissues, discovering novel immune and stromal cell states in human development. |
