Title | Bradley, Daniel Gerard: certificate of election to the Royal Society |
Date | 21 April 2024 |
Description | Certificate endorsing election of Daniel Bradley as a Fellow of the Royal Society. Includes personal details of the elected Fellow, citation giving the reasons for election, and names of proposers. Signed by the Executive Director of the Royal Society, Julie Maxton. |
Citation | Bradley has pioneered and is a leader of population genetic and genomic studies of domestic livestock, as well as of archaeological human remains from the British Isles and further afield. His ancient genomics work in cattle and goats has illuminated the nature of domestication in the Fertile Crescent and provides the earliest direct genetic evidence for human controlled selection 8,000 years ago. His work in ancient human genomics has uncovered the migratory prehistory of Britain and Ireland, has produced genomes from important hunter-gatherer groups and recently uncovered evidence for an elite stratum within Neolithic tomb builders. |
