His contributions have also been of great technological importance. His major contribution in Computer Vision was to apply techniques of projective geometry to Vision problems. This work initiated the field of Multiview Geometry, one of the major research themes in Vision, and enabled major advances in this area during the last two decades. This led to a wide range of practical and commercial applications. |
