DescriptionSir Leopold McClintock and the officers of the Discovery watch the departure of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra who had come to inspect the ship and wish them well. Expedition leader Robert Falcon Scott stands in the centre with Sir Leopold McClintock to the right of him. The man in the foreground on the left is Reginald Skelton, with Ernest Shackleton and Reginald Koettlitz behind him to the right. Edward Adrian Wilson is on the far left with other visitors to the ship visible in the background.
