DescriptionEarlier correspondence relating to the investigations already carried out on Tristan da Cunha have been filed with the response to the questionnaire. Harold Lewis, of the MRC [Medical Research Council] asks for information on the biological work done to add to a list of investigations carried out. The items include a response from Martin Holdgate to this request. The later letters relate to the circular questionnaire sent by the Royal Society, and the MRC's interest in undertaking research on Tristan da Cunha, seeing it as ' a world where we shall get to appreciate the total ecology'
