| Description | This section mostly consists of material on Simon's attendance at various International Scientific Conferences. Included are papers on such conferences as the International Conference on the Physics of Low Temperatures, held at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), September 1949 and the United Nations Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy, August 1955.
Also included are papers on Simon's visits to the USA in 1932, 1937 and 1953. In 1932 Simon spent the spring semester lecturing at the Chemistry Department of Berkeley University in California. In 1937 his visit included addressing the Washington Academy of Sciences on the topic 'The Production and Measurement of Extremely Low Temperatures'. In 1953, Simon attended the Count Rumford Bicentennial celebrations at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, delivering a talk titled 'Helium and the Range of Stability of the Solid State'. |
