TitleLetter from Simon to Max Born
Date15 July 1940
DescriptionStates he enquired again, but he always heard the same: people over 16 cannot leave the country except woman accompanying children and people on special mission. He wonders if Born's daughter thinks of taking her baby out of the country; this can be done, of course.

His connection with L is now of no help at all. In private life they are really good friends. But he is myuch too much afraid that one of his enemies could say that he is in contact and trying to help former "enemy" aliens. This goes so far, that when he asked him about 6 weeks ago whether he Simon should appeal to L in case Simon should b e intened, L answered "I don't think I could help you!" This is, of course, quite confidential.
