DescriptionMott worked at HH Wills Physical Laboratories, Bristol University, before moving to the Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge University in 1954.

The lengthy corresponence mostly reflects Mott's role as Editor of the 'Philosophic Magazine', with letters from Simon and colleagues at the Clarendon Laboratory on the submission of papers to the magazine.

Other topics covered in the correspondence include, visits to the UK from European scientists (and the difficulties involved in this, so soon after the end of the Second World War), arrangements for Low Temperature Conferences, the translation of scientific papers from the USSR and Mott's move from Bristol to Cambridge.
