Description | Letter on headed notepaper of Society for Visiting Scientists, 5, Old Burlington Street, London, W1
Thanks Simon for his letter of May 6th. Discusses the matter of the annual membership fee for various categories of member, and how in the end it was decided this was impracticable. The Committee had realised the raising of the fee would mean the loss of some very valuable members, but were faced with the problem of increasing the Society's revenue, and this was one of the methods decided on. It was hoped that by widening the basis of the home British membership the loss of present members woudl be financially - though not otherwise - compensated. |
