Description | Handwritten formula for the effect of other planets on Neptune, followed by table of perturbation of the true longitude, then a second table where the perturbations are calculated for specific dates between 9 May 1795 and 1 February 1848. Dated and signed by Benjamin Peirce, with the name "President Everett" noted down at the bottom of each page, this relates likely to the President of Harvard University, Edward Everett, in post 1846-1848 when the note is written. Peirce was in position at Harvard at the time. |
