Title | Letter from H R [Henry Ravenshaw] Thuillier, Roorkee, to J [John] Herschel, Dehra Dhoon [Dehradun] |
Creator | Thuillier; Sir Henry Ravenshaw (1838-1922); Anglo-Indian army officer and surveyor |
Date | 28 October 1864 |
Description | In his hurry to leave he forgot to give Herschel a cheque for the balance to cover the gilder and he sends an enclosure. He got in at 5.00am, the bearers having taken his dhooly out to the bungalow. Pat Murray has gone shooting. He left his large sponge at Herschel's house, and asks for it to be sent to Calcutta [Kolkata]. There are few sappers and no news at Roorkee. He may also have left his copy of Copley's Guide, but Herschel should not trouble about that as he can get another copy. |
