DescriptionEmma has been incessantly occupied with plans for moving. He cannot shake off his fever and he has been obliged to take leave of absence for six weeks. He gives travel plans, including consulting Dr [Thomas Edmonton] Charles at Calcutta [Kolkata] before going to Darjeeling. He keeps his appointment and hopes to return on 10 June. He is taking quinine and arsenic. There are no letters from Collingwood and the Hardcastles will give her news from Emma's letters.
