Title | Letter from William James Herschel, 4 East Cliff, Dover, to 'Dearest Mother' [Margaret Brodie Herschel] |
Creator | Herschel; Sir William James; second baronet (1833-1917); British developer of fingerprinting and judge |
Date | 10 November 1873 |
Description | He thanks his mother for the account of baby Arthur and for her affection and care of him. William notes 'wretched weather' and not being able to get about. He was sorry to hear of Mary's threatening cough. He has a letter from John [Herschel] giving some indication of the labour involved in selecting letter, far more than he had supposed. They should review their forces before reading what they have and collecting more. He will write to John soon and to his mother on their various capacities. He concludes with greetings from Selina and news of 'Mrs H' [Hardcastle?] |
