Date1949
DescriptionCollection of letters written by James Baddiley Senior to the Editor of the Manchester Guardian, featured in the Manchester Guardian.

1. 'Water Shortage' (28 September 1949)
Baddiley describes the current water shortage problem and suggests that marshy or swampy areas should be drained.
In his letter Baddiley recommends a curb on water consumption by both towns and rural areas, and proposes the invention of a 'cheap coin-in-the-slot' water meter.

2. 'The Humanities And Science' (not dated)
Baddiley reflects on a previous article, a report of Professor John.F.Fulton's Mond lecture which suggested that the gap between science subjects and humanities subjects should be solved by re-arranging the academic curriculum.
