Has carried out original investigtions of distinction in hysical chemistry particularly in connection with the kinetics of thermal and photchemical processes. The greater part of this work has been carried out in collaboration with his colleague Dr R O Griffith. These investigations have elucidated the detailed mechanism of numerous ionic and non-ionic reactions in solution.
