Citation | Hammick, Dalziel Llewellyn (Oxford). Fellow of Oriel College, Oxford. University Demonstrator. Distinguished as an organic chemist. He has made important contributions to knowledge in connexion with stereochemistry, molecular compounds, the chemistry of nitroso-compounds, photochemical bromination of nitro-compounds and the relation of physical properties with molecular constitution. Chiefly interested in the mechanism of chemical change and other theoretical aspects of organic chemistry, his experimental work has covered a wide field and has been developed by an excellent combination of chemical and physical methods.
