DescriptionMeteorological observations made at Ballyneilmore, Artrea Parish, Derry, Ireland [now Northern Ireland]. Columns for month, day and times of observations (usually three observations per day), weather remarks, barometer reading, temperature, wind direction and strength, and rainfall. With occasional footnotes, notably for May-August, when smallpox 'raged very much'.

The tables of data are followed by an account of 'An observation of an unusual appearance of the Aurora Borealis' [p.13] on 20 September 1725. There is a repeat of the note [from MA/117/2] on Neve's instruments [p.14]: 'My Barometer was made by an Italian that calls himself Johanes Cassina...'. With a note written by Isaac Pyke, no date, to Edmond Halley, 'This was sent me in ye Month of february last by Mr. Tho: Neeves who desired me to give it to Some of ye Royall Society. I sent him word I would give it to you...'

With a title page, inscribed: 'Observations of the Weather for the Year 1725 as also An observation of ye. Meteor called Aurora Borealis. By Thomas Neve...'
