| Description | Daily meteorological observations at [the Observatory, Port Louis], Mauritius [now the Republic of Mauritius]. Usually four readings per day, generally at 8.00am, 12.00 noon, 4.00pm and 8.00pm, but with variations. With half-hourly observations on solstices. Columns recording day and hour, barometer, difference, thermometer, thermometer in shade, hygrometer, sympiesometer, external heat and external cold, rain gauge, winds, general remarks and weather remarks. With summary tables at the end of each month, and annual summaries for the years 1837 and 1838 [pp.356-357].
