Description | Tables of dew point observations made at the Regimental hospital at Pune, Maharashtra State. Daily readings taken at 9.30am and 3.30pm. Columns for date, computed observations using Glaisher's tables, factors and Apjohn's formula; with observations made using Daniell's hygrometer and Regnault's hygrometer; and with general remarks. There are no observations for the month of June.
Each sheet is headed 'Meteorological Observatory at Poona [or Camp Poona]...', with the month and year. Observations were made by Private Richard Fitzsimmon, 3rd Bombay European Regiment, January-May 1858 and by Lance Corporal J.P. Vincent, 2nd Bombay European Regiment of Light Infantry, July-December 1858. Signed by various assistant surgeons [many illegible], including Alexander Dudgeon Gulland and G.P.M. Woodward. Typed paper label [p.22]: 'Poona. Daily dew point obs. 1858.'. |
