DescriptionDaily meteorological observations made at the Regimental hospital at Pune, Maharashtra State. Readings taken at 9.30am and 3.30pm. Columns for: Moon's age, day of the week, and day of the month; barometer; hygrometer, wind and cloud; dry and wet bulb self-registering thermometers; rainfall and wind; concluding with columns for prevalent diseases, natural history [not completed] and general weather remarks. With maximums, minimums and means. There are no observations for the month of June.

Each sheet is headed 'No. 1 Meteorological Observatory at Poona...', with the month and year. Observations were made by Private Richard Fitzsimmon, 3rd Bombay European Regiment, January-May 1858 and by Lance Corporal J.P. Vincent, 2nd Bombay European Regiment of Light Infantry, July-December 1858. Signed by various assistant surgeons [many illegible], including Alexander Dudgeon Gulland and G.P.M. Woodward. Typed paper label [p.22]: 'Poona. Daily met. obs. 1858.'.
