DescriptionHourly barometer, hygrometer and wind observations made at the Regimental hospital, Pune, Maharashtra State. Two sets of readings per month, with a gap June-July, commencing from 6.00am, and ending at 5.00am on the following day. Columns for: times of observation; barometer no.36 reading with attached thermometer, and corrected reading; dry and wet bulb thermometers, with corrected readings; dew point by Apjohn's formula and by Glaisher's tables; elastic force of vapour; humidity; wind force and direction; clouds and general remarks.

Each sheet is headed 'Meteorological Observatory at Camp Poona. Hourly observations taken on...' [date]. Observations were made by Private Richard Fitzsimmon, 3rd Bombay European Regiment, January-May 1858 and by Lance Corporal J.P. Vincent, 2nd Bombay European Regiment of Light Infantry, July-December 1858. Signed by various assistant surgeons [many illegible], including Alexander Dudgeon Gulland and G.P.M. Woodward. Typed paper label [p.2]: 'Poona. Hourly met. obs, various days in 1858.'.
