| Title | Letter from [George Gabriel] Stokes, Lensfield Cottage, Cambridge, to [Thomas Henry] Huxley |
| Creator | Stokes; Sir; George Gabriel (1819 - 1903); First Baronet; physicist |
| Date | 15 July 1885 |
| Description | Stokes informs Huxley that Captain Wharton said the Admiralty is 'desirous' that it should not seem they are creating obstacles to the 'suggested change' [proposed by the resolution of the Wahsington Conference 1884]. The Admiralty have left it to Huxley when to call a meeting and are in no rush. Wharton suggests Huxley should write to the Admiralty regarding the difficulty in calling a meeting, and suggests some time after the recess. |
