DescriptionDirected by Governors of the Armagh Observatory to send enclosed copies [enclosures present] of correspondence between Archbishop of Armagh [William Alexander] and the Secretary of Her Majesty's Treasury, togteher with a report of the Astronomer of the Observatory for the years 1883-1896. As the Treasury have declined grants to the Observatory, the Governors are appealing to the Royal Society to intercede with Her Majesty's Government to obtain a grant.
