TitleLetter from Sydney Monckton Copeman, Local Government Board, Whitehall, to Michael Foster
Date11 October 1892
DescriptionProvides a brief statement of expenses at Foster's suggestion. He is at present about £29 7s. 6d. out of pocket and, he fears, with a good deal to follow. He thinks he will get a fair return for the calves, all of which, except one, have been sent away from the 'Brown', but he does not know what to expect. His chief want at Cambridge will be the table that he spoke about to Foster on Sunday and several more calves. He sent the general results to Foster in an earlier letter, but if he requires a formal statement, he will send one.

Dr. S. Monckton Copeman was awarded a grant of £30 from the Royal Society's Donation Fund in May 1892, 'in aid of his researches on the bacteriology of the vaccine lymph'.
