| Title | Copy of a letter from Joseph Banks, Soho Square, to William Windham MP |
| Date | 15 March 1793 |
| Description | On Windham's disclaimer of contradicting the judgement of the Board of Longitude, but in his opinion the action of Parliament in interfering with the jurisdiction they gave to the Board, under which £500 has already been awarded to Mudge, is clearly a reflection the Board and a resumption by Parliament of the powers they have given it.
Thomas Mudge petitioned Parliament after his Father's instrument to determine Longitude was awarded £500. Mudge believed it should have claimed the higher sums offered by the Board of Longitude. |
