Title | Letter from Ian Dunn; Lake Katwe, Uganda; to Peter Greenwood; Cromwell Road, London |
Creator | Dunn; Ian George (1934 - ); biologist |
Date | 4 July 1967 |
Description | Apologises for lack of news and letters. Says he has received correspondence dated 12 and 22 May 1967. Reiterates the sending of log books on 4 June 1967 and that these are not for publication but will do as a backup copy. Says that spirits are reasonably high in the camp and puts this down to the purchase of a VW and the construction of new buildings. States that there is progress with research and each team member is over the 'initial worrying stage'. News of his own research is not particularly informative. He has worked through the gut samples but not has time to examine the results. He has tried using the data to get some idea of species groups living in the chosen fishing spots but thinks the sample size is too small to give a good idea of species ratios. Details the species he has identified so far: H. schubotsi; marcusenius nigricans; ctenopoma muriei; H. wangatti; macrops; Microcystis. |
