Title | Letter from Julian Rzoska; 7 Marylebone Road, London; to Ian Dunn; Lake Katwe, Uganda |
Creator | Rzoska, Julian (1900-1984); zoologist |
Date | 7 August 1967 |
Description | Thanks Dunn for sending re-print of fluctuations in ponds. Defends the Royal Society's 'slip of allocating you to Lake Katwe' as 'insignifcant' due to size and scope of the Society. Discusses research of Haplochromis and suggests use of seine nets for obtaining the absolute total fish populations. Also suggests tagging as an answer to cataloguing and researching migration patterns. Estimates that the IBP and all projects associated with it will cease in 1971 but says he cannot at this time give a more detailed overview of the future of the project. Says that he will discuss it at the next ad hoc committee meeting. Asks Dunn to collect fish parasites. Includes a line illustration of a Lichomolgus species. |
