Title | Letter from Peter Greenwood; Cromwell Road, London; to Ian Dunn; Lake Katwe, Uganda |
Creator | Greenwood, Peter Humphrey (1927-1995); Ichthyologist |
Date | 30 October 1967 |
Description | Explains he is trying to get in touch with Rosemary McConnell and Julian Rzoska to find the root of misunderstanding. Believes it is a misunderstanding as both 'are pretty scatterbrained and excitable'. Agrees that the institutionalisation of the project will have a negative impact overall. He has circulated the teams' future proposals to members of the committee.
Has reservations about Dunn's plan to preserve fish guts for laboratory work in the UK. Partly because, from experience, opening test bottles of putrified guts is off putting once one has returned from the field but more importantly, because small organisms in the gut are destroyed in the process of preservation. Suggests Dunn finds a balance of work in the field and work to be done later. |
