Title | 'Specification of instrument for the measurement of the dip and intensity' by Humphrey Lloyd |
Date | 19th century |
Description | Lloyd describes the instrument with measurements providing dimensions, the diameter of individual components, the length and breadth. Lloyd notes that the instrument described in this specification is very similar to the one made by [Henry] Barrow in 1846. The only instance it differs in is the arrangement of the deflecting bar supports, and it is a smaller dimension. Includes two figures of the instrument showing the front view and the back, that better explains the circle. Lloyd has included a sketch depicting one of the arms of the instrument projecting beyond the circle. |
