Title | Letter from Edward Sabine, Limerick to Humphrey Lloyd |
Date | 5 December [1836] |
Description | Remarks on the disturbing influence of certain rocks to magnetic observations. Returns a letter of [George Biddell] Airy's - discussing Sabine and Lloyd's magnetic work - back to Lloyd and comments on Airy's remarks. Sabine further comments on Lloyd's lectures on the wave theory of light. Sabine has recently received magnetic observations from St Petersburg and gives Lloyd his thoughts on them. Sabine believes they now need to compare their British magnetic observations with continental observations and as such proposes a summer excursion to Christiania [Oslo]. |
