Broun asks Lloyd to look at his conclusions relating to obtaining limits to the change in temperature. Broun lists a number of equations and specifies what they represent. Discussion on the variation of the horizontal force.
Broun informs Lloyd he has gone over all of the Makerstoun observations in order to obtain Lloyd's coefficient. Broun subtracted the daily mean force at Makerstoun from the daily mean in 1844 to obtain the coefficient. Broun discusses his methods and results.
