Description | Some of the handwriting has not yet been deciphered and this description is therefore incomplete.
Although the recipient is not stated, it appears very likely that the letter is to John George Children.
The Duke approves of the proposed response to John Herapath with small alterations. Discusses the best time for sending the response. Notes that his health is improving. Reports that Dr [William] Buckland is unable to join him for dinner owing to commitments at Oxford. Discusses Mr Reynaud's acceptance of a seat on the Council of the Royal Society. |
