Description | Monthly report of the superintendents of exploration. 'The 50th "parallel" was completed'. Two outline sectional tracings of a stone (figs 1-2) is sketched, with the surface described as 'polished'. The stone likely 'derived' from the 'famous Triassic "pebble bed"' of 'Budleigh Salterton'. Several stone implements had been found, with four outline tracings of two stones being sketched to show size and shape (figs 3-6). No. 896, and No. 909. A third stone was found and considered 'probably a "lance head"', No. 942, with two sketches to show size and shape (figs 7-8). 20th November, 'Sir John Lubbock, a member of the Committee, visited the cavern with us'. |
