Title | Letter from Jöns Jacob Berzelius to Thomas Young, dated at Stockholm |
Date | 14 February 1813 |
Description | Is delighted to learn that Young will be translating his memoir and cannot wait to hear what new ideas and observations come to Young as he works on it. Sends the Memoires de la Société Médicale with the composition of the tartare Young wanted, the corrected chemical preparations Berzelius presented to the College de Medecine., a new nomenclature to create a Swedish Pharmacopea published in 1811 in the Journal de Physique. Happy to hear that Young discussed with [Humphry] Davy the errors Berzelius found in Davy's publication, although wishes he had written to him directly. Cannot send [Ludwig Wilhelm] Gilbert's Annalen as the only copy in Sweden is the property of the Academie des Sciences, which would not be willing to part with it. Honoured to be proposed by Davy to become a Foreign Member of the Royal Society. |
