DescriptionSends a copy of the memorandum of Prof. [Thomas Henry] Huxley, proposing Boring into the [River Nile] Delta. [Not enclosed] States the operation will not be difficult, if undertaken by experienced and competent individuals. Requests the service of the Royal Engineers or others now based in Egypt. Informs the Royal Society have voted £150 to cover for the expenses and contribute to incremental expenses in the same way as the abandoned measurement of the Great Pyramid was.
