Description | Will have to leave London on 13 September on the RMS 'Cuzco' unless the Antarctic Committee are willing to pay for passage on the P&O 'Oceana' departing on 19 September, or the Orient liner 'Omrah' departing on 27 September. He will arrive in Melbourne sometime before the 'Discovery' and can practice with the pendulums and other instruments at the observatory there. Asks Kempe to confirm the arrangements for his expenses. He would like to go to Potsdam to see the working of the Eschenhargen instruments no later than 22 August. He is going to the Isle of Wight on Sunday to see Professor [John] Milne regarding the seismographic work. |
