TitleCopy letter from Sir Clements Markham to Sir William Huggins
Date6 September 1903
DescriptionWritten from Vexenhollern, Christiana, Norway
Encloses the draft of a letter from the two Presidents to Captain Scott, for Huggins' approval. iIt first touches in detail on the varied work and achievements of the expedition, and the replies to various requests that Scott has made and refers to future arrangements. He feels sure that Huggins will cordially agree with all that is said about officers and men and their work; and after two winters they deserve that notice should be taken of their sevices in some detail. As regards the future they can only promise to do their best, and to let Scott know what arrangements they have been able to make, when he arrives at Lyttelton. Asks Huggins to send the draft back to Dr Dr Keltie at 1, Savile Row with any alterations or suggestions he may wish to make.
