| Title | Letter from W T [William Turner] Thiselton-Dyer, Kew, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Dyer; Sir William Turner Thiselton- (1843-1928); British botanist |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 14 July 1905 |
| Description | Thiselton-Dyer refers to a paper by Kohnstamm in which he claims to demolish the the prevailing conception of osmotic pressure as a comparator to gas pressure. He cannot understand it, not grasping the meaning of the 'queer English'. [Hendrik Antoon] Lorentz appears to agree with him in the next number of the journal. He asks Larmor for some notion of osmotic pressure. |
