TitleLetter from James Thomson, 22 Wentworth Place, Newcastle on Tyne, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorThomson; James (b.1858); British engineer
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date24 January 1908
DescriptionHe appreciated the article in 'Nature' about his uncle [Lord Kelvin] and he has seen Larmor's letter which was read at the Belfast meeting, and which made kind reference to his father and grandfather. Thomson asks what might be done to write a biography of his uncle, believing that Larmor would be the best person to write it, if he has time, and has finished [George Gabriel] Stokes's 'Life'. He congratulates Larmor on the latter and hopes he may proceed with Kelvin. He hopes that neither Larmor nor Sir Archibald Geikie are any worse for their efforts in the funeral arrangements.
