| Description | He is better, following an attack of influenza, and has been at work for the first time that day. He was unable to go to Belfast. He has been able to get through more papers and he sends eleven additional ones, almost completing the list. He is sending a package on atmospheric refraction found among his father's lecture notes and has marked a letter to his uncle [Lord Kelvin]. He refers to other notes and a letter by [Peter Guthrie] Tait. He wonders if they should print his uncle's papers as well as his father's, on disc, ball and cylinder; also, he asks if Larmor has any objection to the papers on political economy, noting that his father was pleased with the public parks paper. He sends a paper by Barr, comparing similar structures and machines, which follows up his father's. Thomson sends a typed up version of the precis with Larmor's corrections, intending it as raw material, rather then to be printed, and he comments on this. He hopes he is not troubling Larmor too much. |
