| Title | Letter from James Thomson, 22 Wentworth Place, Newcastle on Tyne, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Thomson; James (b.1858); British engineer |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 3 December 1910 |
| Description | Thomson is disappointed not to be able to meet Larmor in Belfast as it is difficult to explain his gratitude in writing. Larmor gives the correct weighting to the contributions of Thomson's father, something which Thmson would not be unable to do. If Larmor could write the introduction himself it would be far better. He encloses a typed copy of the last set of papers which Larmor returned with amendments [not present]. He will also type a paper of his grandfather's which they have found on hereditary talent in men of science. He asks if this would be suitable to publish as an appendix. He will write again in a few days on the question of publication. |
