| Description | He encloses the note on absorption of water by cotton which should clear up the difference between [Frederick Thomas] Trouton's work and his own. When he left England there was a paper by [David Orme] Masson where the results seemed to Travers to contain an obvious experimental error; Travers hoped it would be withdrawn. The problem is a universal one in India, as goods such as jute weigh considerably more during transportation, and he gives examples of other practical problems. He hopes to come home soon and is starting a report on Indian universities. |
