| Title | Letter from William Barrett Frankland, Wrawby Vicarage, nr Brigg, to J [Joseph] Larmor, Cambridge |
| Creator | Frankland; William Barrett (1875-1952); clergyman and mathematician |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 9 October 1920 |
| Description | Frankland asks if there is a standard formula in use for the velocity of a light pulse under a single gravitational centre. He encloses hisown formula. He has been trying to find the reason for [Albert] Einstein's two experimental results and his formula seems to agree with them. It seems familiar to Frankland but he cannot place it and wonders if the ground has already been covered. |
