DescriptionLarmor's letter arrived as Geikie was leaving for the service for [Samuel Henry] Butcher. He gave his card to the reporter on the door at St. Margaret's, saying that he was representing the Royal Society and the Chemical Association. He gives an appreciation of Butcher, 'a delightful personality', saying his death adds to Geikie's current gloom.
