TitleLetter from R T [Richard Tetley] Glazebrook, Castle Hotel, Conwy, North Wales, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorGlazebrook; Sir Richard Tetley (1854-1935); British physicist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date22 April 1905
DescriptionHe has come to Wales for a change and brought the [George Gabriel] Stokes papers with him. They would make a valuable paper, and Glazebrook describes the contents: three series of observations, including from Armagh in 1866. He is uncertain of how to advise on how much to present and he discusses the content of the material: including on positions of the optic faces of prisms relative to the optic axis, and refractive wave normals. Glazebrook describes what would have been needed to be added if the paper had been published forty years ago, although he would now be inclined to abbreviate it. He is not quite clear if he can disentangle all the geometric measures made to determine the position of the prism faces, and notes another point where he is a little hazy. He concludes by asking how Larmor would like the matter treated.
