TitleLetter from R T [Richard Tetley] Glazebrook, the National Physical Laboratory, Bushy House, Teddington, Middlesex, to [Joseph] Larmor, St John's College, Cambridge
CreatorGlazebrook; Sir Richard Tetley (1854-1935); British physicist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date18 November 1908
DescriptionHe has put the matter of publications on the agenda. He thinks there will be considerable difficulty in excluding the staff [of N.P.L.] from the Philosophical Transactions. Larmor's plan will only avoid duplication in the Transactions, but other learned societies would not consent to avoid printing N.P.L. papers in their journals. There are thousands of members of the Civil and Electrical Engineers and the papers are thus distributed free of cost to N.P.L. Glazebrook lists retirements and suggested nominations to the General Board and Executive Committee. He discusses these, concluding with the wish that [Arthur] Schuster would come on to the Executive Committee.
