| Title | Letter from Arch [Archibald] Geikie, Shepherd's Down, Haslemere, Surrey, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Geikie; Sir Archibald (1835-1924); British geologist and historian |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 20 May 1916 |
| Description | Geikie has read with interest the slight biographical details of Henry Cavendish by [James] Clerk Maxwell. They show that there was no rift between father and son. The [Royal Society] Club records confirm this, as his father introduced Henry to the Club and accompanied him there. He notes how Henry Cavendish was proposed as a candidate and his attendance at the Club. He will bring the Clerk Maxwell with him to Cambridge next week. |
