| Title | Letter from Arch [Archibald] Geikie, Shepherd's Down, Haslemere, Surrey, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Geikie; Sir Archibald (1835-1924); British geologist and historian |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 24 October 1917 |
| Description | The little memoir of John Michell is now complete, requiring only revision and transcription. He is at a loss about what to do with it, noting Larmor's suggestion that the Cambridge authorities might treat it as a memoir of a worthy. Geikie thought it might form an obituary notice of about twenty-five pages in Royal Society Proceedings. Geikie is expected to be in Cambridge next week for the election to the Woodwardian Professorship but he has been disabled by neuritis and cannot use his hands, so he may not be able to travel. He supposes that Larmor is having a busy time in the House [of Commons]. |
