| Title | Letter from A [Andrew] Gray, Penybryn, Bangor, North Wales, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Gray; Andrew (1847-1925); British physicist |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 12 May 1897 |
| Description | He thanks Larmor for the abstract of his paper, which answers many questions. General ignorance of the distinction between what takes place in the aether, and in the matter has caused confusion and misinterpretation of experiments. Gray will be in London in time to hear discussion of the paper. Gray will not go to Toronto, but stay at home to work in the long vacation. He would be glad if Larmor could come to Bangor, so thst he might explore the hills and valleys of Snowdonia. In a postscript, he notes the mis-spelling of Maupertuis in a slip. |
